In 1992 Pope Shenouda III delegated Fr. Abanoub Attalla to establish and
serve Saint Mina and Saint Marina church, the sixth Church in Melbourne. Liturgical
services first began in a hired hall in Endeavour Hills.
Current clergy serving at this parish are Fr. Abanoub Attalla, Fr Athanasius
Attia and Fr Timothaos Ghabrial.
On 3 March 1993 His Holiness Pope Shenouda III laid the foundation stone for
a permanent church for Saint Mina and Saint Marina and services began in the new
makeshift church on 9 April 1993. On 23 November 2000 workmen began digging
the foundations for a new larger building that would have space for a hall, Sunday
school rooms and two churches; one each for the English and Arabic liturgies.
Stage one of the building is now complete with a beautiful church hall built to
combine the beauty of the Coptic iconography and architectural style with the most
modern facilities. The Church was officially opened on 3 January 2002.
